SOMETHING ABOUT ME
Hello! I’m Nicole. I’m 15 years old and I really like music. I play the piano and I both like classical and pop music.
I love reading novels! Recently I have read a book. Its title is “ The girl with white sandals”. It’s a really instructive book. I quite like sport. When I was 8 years old I used to go horse riding. It was exciting! I also like ice skating and I think skiing is very difficult. I like going to the cinema and recently I’ve been there with my friends. I saw Percy Jackson’s film. It was quite good and I particularly liked special effects . I hate western films because they’re really boring. The best film I’ve ever seen is “The lucky one”. I also love travelling. Last summer I went with my parents to Rome. The Italian capital is really fantastic, big and people there are really friendly.
MY PERSONALITY
People say I’m not a shy person because I’m really sociable. I like chatting and making new friends. I tend to be generous because I want to help people especially my parents, my brother, my sister and my friends.
I’m also a cheerful person. I really like listening to music and playing the piano. I’m a bit sensitive so some problems worry me but generally I’m positive, optimistic person. I’m also a nice , interesting girl but sometimes I tend to be uptight.
MY BEST FRIEND
I have a best friend. She’s one of the most important persons in my life. Her name’s Anna and she’s 15 years old. She’s a really beautiful nice girl. Anna is tall and slim and she’s really cheerful and outgoing.
Now she’s studying languages because she likes travelling around the world and meeting new people. She’s a bit shy and she tends to be positive and sensitive. On the other hand she’s a bit insecure. Her favourite sports are swimming and horse riding. She swims very well! She also likes going out with friends and her favourite color is red. She really likes animals in fact she’s going to be a vet.
ITALIAN UNIVERSITIES
When an Italian student leaves school he can study at university or can look for a good job.
In Italy there are a lot of prestigious universities such as the Bocconi university in Milan or Sapienza university in Rome.
Italian universities are cheaper than English universities but if you want to study medicine or business administration and many other subjects you must pass an entry test. It is very difficult to pass because there are a lot of applicants and you need a high grade.
Marks in Italian universities are from eighteen to thirty to pass an exam and courses usually last five years or three. Only good students can go to live in the “student’s house” similar to the house of residence in the UK.
Probably when I finish school I’m going to study economy at the university of Udine. Later I’m going to look for a job and I hope I’m going to travel a lot. I think universities are very important for our culture and for our future.
A WEIRD STORY
When I was 11 years old something very weird happened to me. I was at my best friend’s house. It was the 15th February and Anna’s mother was doing shopping while Anna’s dad was at work. So we were alone at home. We were chatting and watching TV, when the weather changed.
A big storm was coming and the wind was blowing fast. Suddenly the telephone rang, but there was no telephone number on the display and nobody answered when we asked who was speaking. Suddenly a door opened wide but nobody was there. We ran away to Anna’s bedroom and we locked the door. We hid under the bed. We were very scared . We heard strange noises coming from the kitchen and the TV was turned off. Someone tried to open Anna’s bedroom door and we sow the handle been lowered.
Luckily the telephone suddenly rang and the ghost ran away.
MY FAVOURITE FILM
Everyone has a favourite film and mine is “I now declare you Chuck and Larry”. It was made in 2007 by Dennis Dugan who became famous with a long series of other films such as “Big Daddy”.
What happens in the film?
The film is set in the United States in 2007. The heroes are Chuck and Larry. They are two fire fighters . Larry is windower and he has two children: Tori and Eric. Larry asks Chuck to enter a civil union with him because if he dies his children will remain alone. Chuck finally marries Larry. So they’re a gay couple but they aren’t really homosexual. The couple is brought into court to defend their marriage but there’s a little problem: the Capitan of the fire fighter station Phineas J. Tucker.
What is really about?
I think it’s a really amusing film but it’s also serious because it deals with friendship and with the problems of homosexuality. This is a comedy film and it’s brilliant.
Who is in it?
The main actors are Adam Sandler and Kevin James and they play Chuck and Larry. They’re two incredible actors and the play very well in the film. They have already worked together in the films “Grown Ups” and “You don’t mess with the Zoham” and many others.
Did you know?
This film is criticized a lot but Adam Sandler was nominated best comic actor in 2008.
Why do I like it
I think this film has a good plot and the actors are fantastic. This film makes you also think about prejudice and family problems. It’s really good film and in some places it’s very funny because it makes you laugh.
MILOUD OUKILI
My hero is Miloud Oukili. He was born on the third of January 1972 in Algeries, Africa. When he was a child he moved with his family to a suburb in Paris. He met there kids who were orphans and didn'thave enough to live on. When he was 17 years old, he was handsome so he started working as a model, although he wanted to become a clown. After his graduation he went in 1992 to Romania, where he worked with the "HandicapInternational" association in a hospital to make people laugh with his sketches.
He has been involved in charity work and in some parades to defend children rights. He received some awards in 1999 from Unicef, in 2001 from the "Foundation pour l'enfance" and he was also awarded in 2006 for his work in Bucarest.
In 2008 a film was made which is about the story of this famous man. Its title is "Pa-ra-da" and it was very successful.
I admire him because he's a really generous person. He's known all over the world because of his love for children. In my opinion he's a fantastic person because he wants to help people who aren't as lucky as we are. I identify my self in him because I want to help people too.
THE SECRET OF HAPPINESS
My life is very happy! Love, having a good relationship with my family, good friends and good health are very important things, which can make me happy.
In my future I hope I'll find a great job. I'm going to married and I'll spend time with my family! I'm sure that money isn't so impostant in our life beacuse we can buy everything but we can't buy our happiness. I try to enjoy each single day of my life and I always smile because life is bautiful with its good and bas times.
People in the western world are unhappy because probably their life style isn't as ours. They're less lucky and their life condition makes them sad. But I'm sure we can change this and make other people happy, for example devolving money, saying thank you and taking initiative.
We're very creative and lucky so we must be happy and make other people happier.
